Plastic Bottles and Containers

We’ve all heard about the evils of how chemicals in plastic can leach into foods and drinks.

I’ve gone out of my way to make sure all my food containers are glass and or BPA free.

The water bottle I use is called Contigo:

I found mine at Costco, three of these for $24, pretty good deal. I do trust that the plastic, not heated will be safe, as in a water bottle.

When I googled BPA plastic dangers I found articles saying there is nothing wrong with BPA and you’d have to melt the plastic to get the negative effects. My concern is heating plastic, how can that not be bad? Like really? How can the cheap plastic food containers from the dollar store really be safe? I’ve seen those bad boys melt and they’re so easily stained from food. If the colour retains, don’t you think chemicals would as well?

Do you continue to buy plastic bottles and plastic food containers?

  1. I have these really cool stainless bottles that I got at Target. I do not use plastic.
