Never would I have imagined that tea, of all things, would have to be tested on animals. What on earth for? Unilever claimed the testing on animals was to study the health effects. Thanks to a letter writing campaign the testing has stopped. How was it stopped? Continue reading

Who doesn’t like an easy fast tasty meal? This recipe is convenient using pantry items you probably have.
Ingredients:

All of this can be combined in one pan and cooked over medium heat. Add the cheese towards the end and viola!

Aireater moving week!
Hello! This week I won’t be posting as I’m moving back to the city. Very exciting for @Mathieu_LF and I. Last week was a bit crazy with so much packing and paperwork.
I’ll be back to my normal posting next week.
I also want to say thank you to all my readers. I had no idea people from so far away would be regulars. Hello to: Zurich, Hamburg, Pennsylvania, Malaysia, Tokyo, New Delhi, Tennessee, New Mexico, California, New York, and of course Toronto.
Nutrition label on Beer Wine and Spirits
In the US, the Tax and Trade Bureau is making an effort to have the nutritional and caloric intake on labels from alcoholic beverages including: wine, beer and vodka. This is a fantastic idea.
Alcohol seems to be one of those products that look straight forward. How can there be anything bad – it’s only distilled fruit and or vegetables, right? Continue reading

Winners from contest No. 6!
Thank you to all that entered! I am excited to announce the winners for the Aireater.com Marinelli Sauce contest.
- Stephanie D.
- Vanessa B
- Patricia C.
- Mark C.
- Melissa P.
- Paul A.
Thank you everyone! This was a great contest and I really love the enthusiastic emails I received. I highly suggest you give Marinielli a try. I know you hear the world “authentic” tossed around, but this sauce actually tastes real. What I love the most is the fact that there is no sugar in the sauce and there’s nothing fake about it. Produced in the Niagara region, I can’t help but support a local business with a great product. Go out to Metro and try it, you’ll see what I mean.
Happy eating!

Oprah’s 1 week Vegan Challenge
One more celebrity to jump on the vegan bandwagon. I hope this gets America thinking about food consumption and what people are putting into their bodies. This makes me think of Rocco, a guest on the Dr. Oz show. I often tell people about Rocco, the burger loving cowboy, who regained his health and made a decision to go vegan for 28 days.
Click here to watch the Rocco video.
So, back to Oprah, let’s see if she can actually do this. I know people tend to lose their minds when they’re forced on diets and especially one with so many ‘limit’ as going vegan. What I don’t agree with is Oprah making her entire 378 person staff do this with her. It shouldn’t be forced upon them, that will only make people hate her and the diet, double no no.
I hope she does well, but I’m also not holding my breath. The episode airs Tuesday, February 1, 2011.
